Why This Role Matters
We’re building a global movement—and our social media presence is how we inspire, mobilize, and grow that community. As our volunteer Social Media Manager, you’ll help shape how our voice shows up across platforms and drive real-world impact through digital engagement. You’ll also serve as a critical connector between teams, translating internal progress into powerful, public-facing storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage a content calendar across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, and YouTube)
Write, design, and post engaging content (images, carousels, reels, and stories)
Collect content and communication goals from individual HBW teams across global time zone
Effectively communicate any risks, delays, or quality concerns to leadership and recommend solutions or additional support as needed
Regularly evaluate team capacity and skill coverage, & proactively flag staffing or skill gaps to the leadership team to ensure project success
Collaborate with a small team of visual content creators (e.g. image/reel designers) to produce final assets
Coordinate with the executive project manager and 6–7 team-specific project managers to align messaging with current initiatives
Regularly review draft content with HBW’s co-founders for feedback and approval
Monitor analytics and optimize posts for reach and engagement
Respond to comments and messages to nurture our online community
Ensure all content aligns with HBW’s brand, tone, and mission
Skills & Experience
Passion for social impact, storytelling, and behavior change
Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing or supporting branded social media accounts
Strong writing and visual communication skills
Comfort working across multiple teams and managing collaborative workflows
Familiarity with Canva, Buffer/Later/Hootsuite, and short-form video platforms
Strategic mindset, responsiveness, and a collaborative spirit
Bonus: experience with nonprofits, documentaries, or behavioral design

Why This Role MattersOur development team is building the digital foundation for everything we do—from a redesigned website to an AI-powered support bot to community engagement tools. As a volunteer Development Project Manager / Scrum Master, you’ll help drive the delivery of these key platforms by enabling alignment, flow, and collaboration across technical contributors and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and maintain team rhythm
Coordinate priorities, tasks, and timelines for the development team across three core projects:
Website redesign
AI-powered support and content bot
Community collaboration tooling
Work with product and UX leads to clarify user stories and backlog items
Track progress using tools like Jira, Trello, or Notion
Effectively communicate any risks, delays, or quality concerns to leadership and recommend solutions or additional support as needed
Regularly evaluate team capacity and skill coverage, & proactively flag staffing or skill gaps to the leadership team to ensure project success
Communicate regularly with the executive project manager and other team leads
Collaborate with developers, designers, content creators, and researchers to unblock work
Report status updates and align key deliverables with HBW’s broader strategy
Foster a collaborative, positive team environment
Skills & ExperienceMin 3-5 years of experience in project management, Scrum, or Agile delivery—especially in tech or digital product environments
Proven track record of delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Strong documentation and process development experience
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain project management systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with website development processes, AI/chatbot integration, or open-source/community tools
Comfortable working with distributed/remote teams asynchronously across time zones
Bonus: experience with nonprofits, civic tech, behavior change initiatives, or startup environments

As we move from research into production and public engagement, we’re planning in-person activations and outreach efforts to amplify our impact and build local momentum. As our volunteer General Project Manager, you’ll coordinate cross-functional teams—including those working on social media, community events, and the website—to ensure a unified, strategic rollout of both online and offline components.

As a volunteer Visual Designer, you’ll bring clarity, cohesion, and emotion to every touchpoint—whether that’s a story carousel, a homepage wireframe, or the UI of our custom AI bot. You’ll work across teams to unify our brand while creating designs that inspire behavior change and collective action.
Key Responsibilities
Design assets for social media campaigns, including carousels, stories, reels, and infographics
Collaborate on the design and evolution of our website, including layout, visual hierarchy, and responsive elements
Contribute to the interface design of our AI-powered guidance bot and online community platform
Translate abstract ideas and research into clear, engaging visuals that resonate with global audiences
Uphold and refine HBW’s visual identity across platforms and media
Work closely with the Social Media Manager, Website Development Team, and Project Managers to align design work with initiative goals
Participate in regular content reviews with co-founders and cross-functional leaders
Ensure final assets are accessible, on-brand, and optimized for their respective platforms
Skills & Experience
A strong portfolio showing visual design for digital experiences, especially across social content, web interfaces, or product design
Proficiency in tools like Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
Experience working within a design system or brand framework—and contributing to one
Familiarity with UX principles, especially around clarity, accessibility, and responsiveness
Collaborative and iterative design mindset, with comfort working across multiple time zones and teams
Bonus: experience in motion design, prototyping, illustration, or conversational interface design
